How To Share Files Using Dropbox.com

Sharing files with Dropbox.com is easy and in this guide we will show you how.

1. Sign into Dropbox website using your account information:

2. Click the “All Files” option on the left side of the page to view your files and folders:

3. When you hover over the file or folder that you want to share you will see a “Share” button appears. Click the Share button.

4. You will be presented with a small window like the image below. You can add an email address in the text box or just create the shared link to the file. To create the shared link, click the “Create” option, to create a link to the file. When the link has been created, click the “Copy link” option:

5. The highlighted share link is now copied to your computer’s memory:

6. At this point you can paste this link into an email, instant messaging, or any other program you want to use to share this link with someone who wants to view or download the file. The image below demonstrates the copied link pasted into an email program:

7. When the person receiving the email clicks on the shared link, they will be directed to a web page like the picture below, where they can view or download the file. There should be no need for the recipient to have a Dropbox account at this point, however the option would still be available to them:

8. This process can be repeated for any number of files or folders stored in your Dropbox account.
